Always read the label and follow the directions for use
Two things to read before you buy. First, it contains Activated Charcoal, which binds things in the gut indiscriminately. Take the whole program two hours away from any prescription medicine, because charcoal can reduce how much of that medicine you absorb. If you take something where consistent levels matter, speak to your prescriber before starting. Charcoal also darkens the stool, which is expected and not a cause for alarm. Second, it contains a Lower Bowel Stimulant, which works by prompting the bowel wall to contract. That's fine for a defined month-long program and not something to drift into taking indefinitely, our page on laxative overuse explains why. Drink plenty of water while you are on it. Don't take it if you have abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting, or if you already have diarrhoea. It is not for children under 12, and not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. This is a supplement program, not a treatment for any condition, and it isn't a substitute for investigating a symptom that needs looking at.
